When the results of 10th standard SSC Board exam are declared the students rush for taking admission in 11th standard. For that they rush into different colleges of their liking.
This was the picture in Akola since last many years. But now the things are changing in Akola. This year after the 10th standard exam results, the admissions to 11th standard will be done on merit basis using Centralized Admission Process known as CAP in Akola.
This system of admission is already in force in Mumbai and Pune since last many years. So such process will be surely and highly appreciated in Akola particularly by the parents and students, as the students will get the college of their own choice and that on the merit basis…! That is what the praised thing about this process is!
This will also help the out station students, who want to take admission in Akola, but cannot remain physically present in Akola for admission. They can now apply online directly…!
What is the procedure of CAP?
In the online admission process, a student fills up an online form given on a particular website, (to be declared yet by the education department). This is a well organized process as it generates a clean server level database without any kind of malfunctioning. While filling up the form, the student has to choose the college as per his/her own preference.
Eligibility
Any student who has passed 10th standard SSC Board examination from recognized board will be eligible to apply in this CAP round.
Admissions
In this process the admissions are given on merit basis i.e. the received forms are processed on the basis of marks secured by the students in 10th standard examination.
However, the availability of seats in a particular college is also a main factor to consider here. Further as per the CAP rounds carried in metropolitan cities, the college cannot refuse to give admission to a student whose name has been mentioned in the selection list i.e. merit list. In other case, if the seats are not filled, then that particular college can issue a second merit list and then lastly a final merit list.
Streams
In CAP rounds in metropolitan cities like Mumbai & Pune, the online admissions are conducted for the three main streams – Arts, Science and Commerce. However, the following admissions are not be done online. These admissions are carried out by the respective junior colleges.
- Admissions to Technical Junior Colleges
- Admissions to Night Junior Colleges
- Admissions to HSC Vocational (MCVC) and Home Science
- Admissions to Management Quota, Minority Quota and In-House Quota
- Required documents in CAP
The student must submit following documents when he/she is filling up the form online.

Is it possible that if I take admission to non-cap college before 10th results, i.e. book my admission and then that admission may be cancelled?

Is there cetralised processing of merit list or is it distributed on college level with preferences of college decided by students?
LikeLike
Yes. It will be solely on merit basis.
However, as per our new information, some colleges which have not yet included in this CAP round may not adopt this method.

While filling forms by ARTS student , is it necessary to choose the subjects? OR the students have to choose the colelge only? After taking admission, if anybody wants to change the subject, is it possible to change the subject?

We have scrutinised regarding your question in some ARTs colleges of Akola.
While filling up the online form for CAP round, you need to select the subjects as per course schedule of that college. So if you give preferences of say 3 colleges, then you will be prompted to select the particular subject for each of the colleges, and then you will have to submit the form.
You can select number of subjects, offered by a college like: Psychology, Economics, Political science, Sociology, Music, Mathematics, etc. alongwith one compulsory English subject and one Second language subject.
We also got the feedback from some colleges, that if a student selects Music subject, then they have a particular group for this. All these grouping should be shown on the online form subject selection section.
Thanks for such a good question, which helped us also to check its reality. Don’t forget to subscribe to our free updates for online admission details.
